Our Journey in 2014

There are many things to see in Botswana: the massiv amount of game along the Chobe River and in the Okavango Delta, the loneliness of a wide landscape from one horizon to the other in the salt pans around Lekhubu Island and in the Kalahari semi-desert. We visited Botswana in 2009 for the first time but this time the welcome was a little bit reserved. At least this was our impression after having spent a month with the very friendly people in Zimbabwe.

That was one of the reasons why we did not spend too much time in BOT. We just crossed the Chobe NP and of course we did not skip the boat cruise on the river Chobe with a stunning sunset once again. The park is dominated by huge herds of elephants who roam around freely as they did during the old days, even crossing national borders. This can not be found anywhere else in Africa.

Already after one week we left Botswana at Ngoma Bridge and crossed the border to Namibia into the Caprivi Strip.
